Winners of Spirit Award announced

McHenry County Department of Health (MCDH) announced the winners of its 8th annual Spirit of Public Health Award. Nominations for the Spirit Award were received from the public to acknowledge those individuals whose efforts make McHenry County a healthier place to live. Spirit recipients and their nominators were recognized at the McHenry County Board of Health meeting held on Monday, May 20 at the County Administration Building, 667 Ware Road, in Woodstock.

• Aidan Donahoe, a high school student/volunteer, for his involvement with the recycling program at the Family Health Partnership Clinic, Woodstock;

• Dr. Richard O. Cook, Mercy Health System, for his dedication to healthcare for women and children through the Family Case Management program;

• Jim Tomasek, Assistant Director at Friendship House, for his commitment to children's health and fitness education.
