Schaumburg will hold its annual Youth-In-Government Day on Tuesday, May 21 at the Robert O. Atcher Municipal Center. During the event, Schaumburg High School students will be paired with elected officials, department directors and other key staff members to learn more about the activities, services and programs provided by the village. One of the more interesting aspects is that the students are allowed to approve an expenditure in an amount not to exceed $2,000. Each department is required to submit one proposal to be considered for approval by the "Student Mock Village Board" and try to justify its cost over the others.
