Lake Forest tops at Warren sectional

Lake Forest wrapped up the team title in the boys tennis sectional hosted by Warren on Saturday, and the Blue Devils finished a strong second.

Scouts junior Peter Tarwid took the singles championship over senior Kristiyan Trukov over Warren by default as Lake Forest finished with 35 points and Warren 25. Grayslake Central and Grayslake North tied for third at 12.

Sophomore Brice Polender of Lake Forest topped Antioch freshman Braden Ward in the third-place singles match 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles, Lake Forest's John Zordani/Scott Christian took top honors by default over their teammates, Camron Bagheri/Connor O'Kelly.

For third place, Warren's Matt Matheny/Samuel Gudeman pulled out a 0-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4) decision against their schoolmates, Ben Hardiman/Ben Skelton.
