A Palatine Township Elementary District 15 school bus driver was ticketed Tuesday morning after striking a parked and unoccupied car in front of Stuart R. Paddock School at 225 W. Washington St. in Palatine.

None of the 19 students on the bus was injured, the bus itself sustained no damage and the car sustained only minor damage, District 15 Transportation Director Tom Bramley said. The exact citation the bus driver received was not immediately available and Bramley couldn't yet comment as to whether any disciplinary action against the driver would be taken by the district.

The car belonged to a parent who was at the school for a special event. The event caused there to be more vehicles than usual parked in front of the school, Bramley said.
