Bring the glitz and glamour to annual fashion show

The Maine Township Republican Women will host its own version of the Academy Awards during its luncheon and fashion show from 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at Chateau Ritz, 9100 N Milwaukee Ave., Niles

Invitations have gone out to the club’s current members and their guests for this event, “Day at the Oscars.” For details or tickets, contact either Jan Provenzano at (847) 390-8964 or Laura Morask at (847) 696-7185. Tickets will be held at the door. All proceeds will benefit the club.

Attendees are invited to pick any Academy Award winning star throughout the years and then do a look-a-like outfit. Awards will be given for Best Outfit, Best Look-a-Like, Best Sunglasses and more.

“We will have our very own red carpet glamour, paparazzi, and fashion commentators as you and your date make your star-studded entrance,” says Maine Township Trustee Laura Morask, one of the organizers.

“This year the event, back by popular demand, will include a full-fledged luncheon featuring the award-winning cuisine of Chateau Ritz.”

Ladies’ fashions to be shown will be provided courtesy of two of Park Ridge’s finest boutiques, Uptown Girlz, 110 S. Prospect, operated by Alison Poppone, and Natalie’s Boutique, 145 N. Northwest Hwy., operated by Margaret Jankowska.

All fashions will be modeled by elected township officials, county commissioners, Republican Women’s Club members and special dignitaries, including State Treasurer Dan Rutherford, State Representative Michael McAuliffe (also a candidate for 28th District State Senate), and Highway Commissioner Bob Provenzano, to name just a few.

The event features raffle prizes as well as an auction of the centerpieces, provided courtesy of Pesches’ Flowers in Des Plaines.
