Grayslake Central 2, Hampshire 0: The host Rams stopped a three-game skid as senior lefty Kevin Peloza tossed a 1-hit shutout. Peloza struck out 5 batters and issued only 2 walks. Ryan Fontana smacked a double for Grayslake Central, which had only 5 hits. “It was a pitcher’s day and Kevin spotted the ball well and pitched to contact,” Grayslake Central coach Troy Whalen said.

Libertyville 22, North Chicago 0: Thanks to a 12-run second inning, Libertyville was up 18-0 after three innings. Jeff Barton had 3 hits and 3 RBI for the Wildcats while Justin Guarnaccio and Evan Skoug added 2 hits each. Pitcher Patrick Wales got the win for Libertyville. He struck out 10 batters over five innings.
