Bank robbed in Rolling Meadows

The man suspected of robbing a Wood Dale bank in February struck again on Friday — this time in Rolling Meadows — authorities said.

The thief walked into the Charter One Bank at 3901 Kirchoff Road at 11:16 a.m. and demanded money from a teller, according to the Rolling Meadows Police Department. He came away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The thief is described as a white man approximately 55 to 60 years old, between 5’10” and 6’1” tall, with a thin build and light complexion. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jacket and blue jeans. A surveillance image from the bank shows the man wearing a turtleneck covering his mouth, with the hood of his sweatshirt over his head.

FBI officials said the man who committed Friday’s robbery is also suspected in the Feb. 15 robbery of the BMO Harris Bank at 130 W. Devon Ave. in Wood Dale. In that robbery, the thief was armed with a silver semiautomatic handgun.

Anyone with information should call the FBI at (312) 421-6700 or Rolling Meadows police at (847) 255-2416.
