Warren’s a hit for Meyer
Warren’s softball team made Tina Meyer a winner in her head-coaching debut.
Junior newcomer Megan Scott went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles and a triple, and senior veteran Lisiann Rodriguez was 2-for-4 with a double and triple, as the Blue Devils defeated Butler (Louisville, Ky.) 7-4 in Kentucky on Tuesday.
Meyer, a former assistant coach for the Blue Devils, replaced Carri McGahan, who stepped down following Warren’s 31-win season last year.
Junior ace Jana Wagner earned the win, allowing 3 earned runs.
Today, Warren is scheduled to play two more teams from Kentucky: Eastern (Louisville) and Holy Cross.
