Incumbents Jack Buscemi, Dennis Peterson and Anna Taylor along with challengers Vincent Engstrom and Melissa West are vying for four seats on the Benjamin Elementary School District 25 board. Buscemi and Peterson are longtime board members who have helped keep the district on solid financial footing since a 2004 referendum and deserve to continue their work. Taylor was appointed to the board in July 2012. She served on the PTA for several years before that and brings an outside perspective that serves the board well. Newcomer Engstrom grew up in District 25, has children in the district and wants to make sure future students have the same opportunities as students of today. He, too, demonstrates the interest and commitment needed in an effective school leader. We endorse Buscemi, Engstrom, Peterson and Taylor. West did not take part in the endorsement process.
Endorsements: Buscemi, Engstrom, Peterson, Taylor for Benjamin Dist. 25 board
