Endorsements: Bossier, Reyes, Quinn for Bensenville Dist. 2 school board
When even the challengers to the incumbents acknowledge how happy they are with the direction of Bensenville Elementary District 2, it speaks well for the future of the district. The district is finishing up major building projects that not only improve resources for elementary students but prepare the way for future enrollment growth. And the board is taking proactive measures to ensure their students are prepared for the coming Common Core curriculum and for high school and beyond. For instance, the board is planning to meet with the boards of Wood Dale Elementary District 7 and Fenton High School District 100 in a type of academic summit to better coordinate programs. Newcomers Mathew Vassar and Donna Prunotto are certainly qualified, and either candidate would be a good addition to the board, which has three seats open for election, but the improvements the district is making and the positive direction in which it is moving do not give us any reason to recommend change at this time. Incumbents Kathleen Bossier, Luis Reyes and Nancy Quinn deserve another term and are endorsed.
