Bill Cosby shows support for Palatine High

A Palatine High School parent recently snapped a picture of a well-known actor wearing PHS gear in an effort to gain support for an upcoming fundraiser.

In the photo, Bill Cosby is smiling while sporting a red Palatine High Schoolsweatshirt and baseball cap.

“When I approached him and asked if he would take a photo with the Palatine gear, he was quick to put it on,” said Palatine dad Don Kronberg, who is president of NiteLite Promotions and Cosby’s Midwest manager. He approached the actor at a recent event in Kansas.

Four VIP tickets and meet-and-greet passes to the Bill Cosby tour at the Chicago Theatre will be auctioned off at the Pirate Boosters Dinner and Auction, which begins at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at The Cotillion, 360 Creekside Drive in Palatine.

“He’s great,” Kronberg added about Cosby, who he said is very excited to meet the four ticket holders. “This is a rare opportunity to meet one of the most legendary figures in show business.”

The theme for this year’s dinner and auction is “Catch the Pirate Spirit.” Besides the silent auction, there will be raffles and live entertainment.

Tickets are $55 per person. A table of 10 can be purchased for $500.

Tickets are available at phspirateboosters.com or at the door. For more information, email auction@PHSPirateBoosters.com.
