The Lake County Forest Preserve District hosts an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at the Antioch Township Center, 1625 Deep Lake Road, Lake Villa, to gather public input on two master plan concepts involving recreation improvements and habitat restoration for five forest preserves in north-central Lake County. The district is midway through the planning process for this area, north and south of Route 173 between Deep Lake Road and Hunt Club Road, which include the Dutch Gap, Ethel's Woods, Pine Dunes, Prairie Stream and Raven Glen forest preserves. Those who can't attend but have questions or would like to provide input should contact Susan Hall, (847) 968-3270 or shall@LCFPD.org or visit www.lcfpd.org to view and comment on the proposed concept alternatives or to sign up to receive project emails list.
