Boomers announce early season promos
How better to endure the bitterly cold weather that’s at last arrived than to dream of the warm, sunny baseball season ahead?
The Schaumburg Boomers have just announced their promo and giveaway scheduled for the first half of their sophomore season, which begins at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 16, at Boomers Stadium, 1999 S. Springinsguth Road.
The first 4,000 fans at that opening night game will receive an Orange Rally Towel. The following night will be a chance to celebrate Halloween early by wearing a costume to “Field of Screams,” followed by a fireworks display after the game.
Opening weekend will be capped off with a Pajama Party at the Park at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 18.
Area schools are invited to bring their students to Kids Day at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 29. “Disney Night,” along with another fireworks display, will take place Friday, May 31.
The World’s Largest Marshmallow Fight is planned for Saturday, June 1. The first of the Boomers’ Day Camp Days of the season is planned for Wednesday, June 19.
Other area sports mascots will help celebrate with the Boomers’ own on Coop’s Birthday at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 23.
Independence Day will be celebrated with fireworks on three consecutive nights, July 3 through 5. The July 5 game also is Nerd Night at the stadium.
The first half of the season will be rounded off with an eventful mid-July weekend. Star Wars Night, along with a themed fireworks display, takes place Friday, July 12. Jimmy Buffet Night will be Saturday, July 13. And the World’s Largest Squirt Gun Fight will coincide with the 1 p.m. game Sunday, July 14.
