Flawed Fatherhood Is the Problem AND the Solution
ST. CHARLES, IL – January 23, 2013 — As dozens die on Chicago streets, lawmakers struggle to stop the carnage through gun-control legislation, additional policing and school reforms. Despite these measures, violence continues unabated. It is because whether present or absent, fathers affect their children for life. The new book, One Father, posits that fatherlessness is both the problem and the solution.
Author, Carl King, admits fatherhood is messy and administered by imperfect men. It is these failures that cause some to question its importance, but we see the pattern of One Father in creation, human history, leadership, statehood and family life. Policy makers, social commentators and agents of change from Martin Luther King Jr. to Daniel Moynahan to Bill Cosby have found this pattern firmly rooted in place.
