Water availability topic of Mundelein meeting

An overview of current and future water availability will be the topic at the monthly meeting of the Lake-to-Prairie Chapter of Wild Ones at the Fremont Public Library, 1170 North Midlothian Road, Mundelein. The meeting takes place from 7 to 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8. Like other places in the U.S., Lake County will soon find that it has a water shortage. Juli Crane, principal wetland specialist with the Lake County Stormwater Management Commission, will identify which local, state, and federal entities are charged with water protection, quality and regulation, discuss factors that are depleting our water supply, and suggest easy, practical, cost-effective ways to go about solving the problem with various sustainable practices. The program is free and no registration is required. Call (224) 377-8201.
