For the first time at Rolling Meadows High School, the Italian Club sponsored and organized "La Settimana Italiana" or Italian Week from Tuesday, Nov. 26 through Friday, Nov. 30.
While trying to promote the Italian language and culture within the school, the students raised money for the Streamwood Behavioral Health Center.
Several students made chocolates to be delivered as Amore or "love" notes for $1.
As the week went on, they sold Italian specialties such as focaccia bread, lemon pound cakes with Italian flags, pizza and biscotti dipped in chocolate prepared by Chef Lucia Biscagilo of Piatti Pronti on Grove Street, in Arlington Heights.
The students managed to raise about $500.
