Woodland Elementary District 50 hosts its second Bilingual Parent Advisory Council meeting of the year at 6:30 p.m., Dec. 12 at Woodland Elementary East School, 17261 W. Gages Lake Road, Gages Lake. Parents of English as a Second Language (ESL) students and bilingual students are invited to attend. The topic for the evening is: "Helping your child become a better reader." Childcare will be provided. Information will be discussed in Spanish and English, but parents of all language backgrounds are invited to attend. The following meeting dates have been set for the year: Feb. 7 and April 30. For information, contact Valerie Morey, (847) 984-8840.
