Dist. 103 announces kindergarten registration

Lincolnshire-Prairie View School District 103 is beginning kindergarten registration on Friday, Dec. 7.

Registration is set to run from 9:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Laura B. Sprague School, 2425 Riverwoods Road. Children who will be 5 years old before Sept. 1, 2013, are eligible for the 2013-14 term.

Parents will have the opportunity to select the full-day or half-day kindergarten program. The full-day program carries an additional tuition charge.

Parents or guardians will need to bring the following in order to register a child:

Ÿ The child’s original birth certificate or passport. A photocopy of the birth certificate or a hospital certification of birth cannot be accepted.

Ÿ Proof of District 103 residency, such as a driver’s license or utility bill.

For requirements or actions that must be completed to establish student residency, visit d103.org/vbackpack/D103AdmProc-ResidencyRev112712.pdf.

Forms for required medical and dental examinations will be available at the time of registration. They must be completed and returned to Sprague School one week prior to the first day of the school year.

Depending on demand, it may be necessary to create more than one half-day section. To plan for that and to ensure balanced class sizes, the first 15 students who enroll in half-day kindergarten will be assigned to the morning program. The 16th through 30th enrollees will be assigned to the afternoon program.

A $500 deposit is required at registration for the tuition-based, full-day kindergarten program. The deposit must accompany registration forms and be returned to Sprague School between Dec. 7 and Jan. 25, 2013.

Tuition for the full-day kindergarten program will be $3,382.
