One Hope United will host "Gingerbread Houses of Hope" Dec. 7 to benefit the agency's child abuse prevention programs and services and child development centers. The drop-in event runs 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Millburn Elementary School, 18550 W. Millburn Road, Wadsworth. Kick off the holidays by decorating gingerbread houses while also supporting at-risk children and families in the Chicago area. Assembled gingerbread houses and decorations will be provided for participants. All participants will receive an award and can home take their completed gingerbread houses. This fundraiser has generated more than $2,000 for One Hope United since it began in 2009.
