Relay For Life of Schaumburg/Hoffman Estates receives American Cancer Society Awards

Relay For Life of Schaumburg/Hoffman Estates received the American Cancer Society’s prestigious national Online Communication and Relay All Star awards at the Society’s recent Relay Leadership Summit in Itasca, Ill.

With the Online Communication Award, the American Cancer Society honors Relay events and teams from throughout the country that have demonstrated the best use of online communications and fund-raising. The Relay All Star Award honors events that achieve significant fundraising and participant growth. This year, Relay For Life of Schaumburg/Hoffman Estates raised approximately $203,000 with nearly 600 participants.

“By supporting Relay For Life of Schaumburg/Hoffman Estates, our volunteers are helping us save more lives faster,” said Alan D. Lev, chairman of the board of the American Cancer Society’s Illinois Division. “We invite all local residents to join us in fighting for every birthday threatened by cancer at this year’s Relay.”
