She was taken to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where she underwent surgery but died early Sunday.

The driver, a 25-year-old Chicago man, was operating a privately owned bus. He was not injured.

Authorities did not say if charges would be filed against the man.

An autopsy for Wilhelm by the Cook County Medical Examiner's office is pending.

On Monday, police asked anyone who may have witnessed the collision to call the major accident investigation team at (847) 870-5656.
