D50 student play starts Thursday

Woodland Elementary District 50’s Intermediate School will present its fall production of “Keeper of the Tales: Stories from 1,001 Arabian Nights” at 7 p.m., Nov. 8 and 9 at the school, 1115 N. Hunt Club Road, Gurnee. Kamal, the blind storyteller, played by Amaan Ghoghawala, spins tales of morals and wonder, teaching Princess Mayam, played by Nicolette Toub, the most important lessons in life. The play, is directed by April Cooksey and Pamela Valkenaar, assisted by Sandra Belfield. There will be a bake sale and raffle on both performance evenings, with the proceeds going to the drama fund for future performances. Tickets are $3, and children 12 and under are admitted free.
