• Between Friday and Monday, nearly $8,000 in tools were stolen from six trucks parked in the 1400 block of Sheldon Drive, police said. According to reports, someone removed the padlocks from the trucks' rear doors.

• On Monday, a 20-inch flat screen television, a Sony PlayStation 3 and a mobile hot spot device were stolen from a home on West Highland Avenue, police said. According to reports, police could not find evidence of forced entry and said that this particular home had been burglarized once in the past.

Kane County

• Patricia R. Spudich, 39, of the 2600 block of Pondview Drive, Algonquin, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to reduce speed after her car struck a tree in the 4N800 block of Crane Road near St. Charles shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday, according to a sheriff's report.
