Elgin
• Luis M. Medina, 46, of the 0-99 block of Union Street in Elgin, appeared in bond court Tuesday on a felony charge of resisting a police officer and causing injury as well as a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge, according to court documents. Officers responded to Medina's home for complaints of loud music, police reports said. Medina pulled away from officers while he was in handcuffs and slipped to the ground, falling on top of an officer and dislocating her shoulder on impact, reports said. Bail was set at $50,000, of which Medina must pay 10 percent to be released before his next court date, scheduled for Oct. 26 in St. Charles.
• Cashay L. Clay, 25, of the 300 block of North Commonwealth Avenue in Elgin, appeared in bond court Tuesday on a felony theft charge, according to court documents. Clay was arrested Monday and charged with stealing a boombox priced at $75 from Meijer, 815 S. Randall Road, police reports said. Bail was set at $75,000, of which Clay must pay 10 percent to be released before her next court date, scheduled for Oct. 26 in St. Charles.

• A purse was reported stolen from a parked car Thursday on the 10400 block of Algonquin Road, police said. According to reports, someone smashed the passenger side window and took the purse.
