The woman killed Saturday morning in a rollover crash on I-90 has been identified as Kathleen Steele, 51, of Carpentersville, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Steele was traveling east on the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway when her silver SUV overturned at about 11:30 a.m. near Roselle Road, Illinois State Police Sgt. Tim Moore said.

Steele was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle in the crash, according to state police Sgt. Jewel Harris.

Both Schaumburg and Hoffman Estates fire departments responded to the accident. Steele was pronounced dead at the scene.

Harris said a crash reconstructionist is working to determine how the accident occurred. At this point, police know the driver lost control of her vehicle and struck a median wall.

“What made her lose control we don’t know at this point,” Harris said.
