Lisa West has been named the new assistant principal at Woodland Intermediate School, Woodland Elementary District 50 officials announced. She replaces Deborah Pellettiere who was named assistant director of teaching and learning in the district last month. West began her career in education in 1990 after graduating from Iowa State University with a Bachelor's Degree in elementary education. She has taught kindergarten through sixth grade in Illinois as well as Texas. West, who lives in Chicago, also has an extensive background training teachers in various staff development classes. While working as an educational consultant, she co-authored the elementary training manual for Teachers' Curriculum Institute, which is still used today.
