Rolling Meadows Fire Department hosts clothing drive

The Rolling Meadows Professional Firefighters Association has paired up with Elk Grove-based nonprofit, Heart of A Marine, to host a clothing drive for homeless veterans in the Northwest suburbs during the month of August.

The donations will benefit the “Clothes Room” at James Lovell Federal Health Care Center/North Chicago VA where veterans can shop without paying for clothing and personal items.

Barbara Matsukes, director of marketing and public relations for Heart of a Marine, said the clothes room is consistently in need of underwear and socks in a variety of sizes for both men and women. All items must be new.

Donation bins will be at both firehouses in Rolling Meadows, 3111 Meadow Drive or 2455 Plum Grove Road, through Aug. 31.
