Drug charges dismissed against Streamwood woman

text size: AAA

A Streamwood woman who successfully completed the Cook County State's Attorney's deferred prosecution program had the drug charges against her dismissed this week.

Delores Gigliello, 59, had been charged with possession of a controlled substance after prosecutors say she kept for herself 690 hydrocodone pills prescribed for residents of a Bartlett retirement and assisted living community where Gigliello worked.

Under the terms of the program, defendants must participate in drug or alcohol treatment, provide restitution and have a job or perform community service. If a defendant complies with those conditions, the charges against him or her are dismissed.

Gigliello had no other criminal background, prosecutors said.
