$60,000 bond set for Addison man in child porn case

A judge set bail at $60,000 on Wednesday for an Addison man accused of possessing pornographic videos of children as young as 4 years old.

Tony Comacchio, 33, appeared in DuPage County bond court on five counts of aggravated child pornography and one count of child pornography.

Prosecutor Kevin Laude said Carol Stream police downloaded several illegal videos from Comacchio's computer during a recent online undercover investigation, which also involved Addison police and the DuPage sheriff's office.

Officers later obtained a warrant and searched the defendant's Mill Road apartment, finding “many photos and videos of minors under the age of 13,” Laude said. According to court records, the images depicted children ranging in age from 4 to 12.

“The defendant admitted his knowledge of those videos being there,” Laude said in court.

Bail was set at $60,000 by Judge Elizabeth Sexton, who ordered Comacchio to have no contact with minors and to avoid using computers.

Authorities said Comacchio has no prior criminal history. If convicted of the most serious charge, he could face up to seven years in prison, though probation also is an option.

Comacchio would have to post $6,000 to bond out of the county jail. His next court date is July 26 before Judge Robert Kleeman.
