New assistant principal at Woodland:

Nicole Bellini was named assistant principal at Woodland Elementary East, Woodland Elementary District 50 announced Monday. Bellini of Vernon Hills, has more than 10 years of teaching experience with a background in bilingual education, English as a second language, as well as expertise in early education and curriculum and instruction. She has spent the past six years at Hawthorn Elementary District 73 in Vernon Hills and is bilingual in English and Spanish. Bellini replaces Victoria Kieffer who is leaving to serve as a principal in Vernon Hills. The appointment was made at the May 22 school board meeting.
