Vernon Hills High pool repairs approved by state
Government-mandated repairs to the Vernon Hills High School swimming pool have passed a state inspection, officials announced.
The pool must now be filled and inspected by Lake County health officials before it can reopen to the public.
The pools at Vernon Hills High and sister school Libertyville High have been temporarily closed for the repairs, which were prompted by federal and state safety regulations. Under the law, drain systems of pools and spas across the country needed to be fitted with safer equipment to prevent swimmers from being trapped under water.
