Smoke in Hoffman Estates from controlled burn

Smoke reported Tuesday in Hoffman Estates was from a controlled burn being conducted under the auspices of the Hoffman Estates Park District, fire officials said.

The burn in Victoria Park south of Golf Road between Gannon Drive and Moon Lake Boulevard was authorized for 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and had prior approval from the village and environmental regulators, officials said.
