Book notes: Jennifer Chiaverini makes 2 local appearances

Brod leads a “Writer's Center Special Topics Workshop” from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, in Room SRC 320 at the Elgin Community College Student Resource Center, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin. Brod, author of “Murder in Store” and “Getting Sassy,” will discuss the benefits of writing a novel that is projected to be part of a series, as opposed to a stand-alone title. Free admission.
