Lake Villa Library celebrates 60 years

The Lake Villa District Library, 1001 East Grand Ave., next week will begin a yearlong celebration of activities, events and challenges to mark its 60th anniversary.

The first of two challenges begins Monday Jan. 2 when patrons can pick up a “TimeTracker” at any public desk to record your visits. The challenge is to visit 60 times before June 30 and explore the library and its services. Hint: the information you gather might be useful for the second challenge.

Friend the library on Facebook and look for a new blog, 60 Beats, on the library’s website in January. Hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Thursday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Call (847) 356-7711 ext. 213 or visit www.lvdl.org for more information.
