Library announces winners of Operation Game Creation

The winner of the Indian Trails Public Library’s 2011 Operation Game Creation competition was the team “Loading Data Games,” composed of three members: Dmitry Lahucik, Brendan Liokumovich and Sergey Papushin.

The computer game they created, “Fall of Cities,” is a city-building game with military aspects. Six other teams submitted five board games and one computer game.

Operation Game Creation began eight weeks ago when a call went out to aspiring game creators between the ages of 6 and 18 to create new games for the library’s third annual Operation Game Creation competition.

The games could include board, computer or outdoor formats. Prizes were awarded to the best game viewed by the contest judges.

The three members of the winning team met in 2009 at Operation Game Creation Bootcamp, the training session for the competition. Since then they have competed each year with a different computer game.

To date, they have created 17 games. After their first year they branded themselves as “Loading Data Games” and created a website, Facebook fan-page and a YouTube channel. The boys have also designed T-shirts with their logo.
