Daily Herald report

Keith Gray, a Republican from Mettawa, has announced he has withdrawn his candidacy for the 58th Illinois House District. Gray said in a letter to supporters he has done so in support of his friend Lauren Turelli, who announced her candidacy for the seat Monday. "Lauren and I have been friends for a long time, and I made a promise to her a while ago that should she seek public office again I would support her," he said in a statement. Gray has also changed his kickoff fundraiser scheduled for Oct. 26 at 6 p.m. at Bertucci's in Highwood to be a fundraiser for Turelli's campaign.
