We deserve hospital in Huntley

Centegra has been a part of my life ever since I can remember. Three generations of my family turn to Centegra for checkups, emergency matters and much more. Even when my late husband was diagnosed with brain cancer, we decided on Centegra’s quality care close to home instead of traveling downtown.

When I heard that the state review board didn’t approve Centegra’s application for a hospital in Huntley, I was crushed, disappointed and in disbelief. How could they not see the need here in southern McHenry County? Centegra Hospital-Huntley is the perfect solution, offering the best patient care, medical staff and technology.

I know Centegra has planned accordingly for Centegra Hospital-Huntley and even though weeks have passed since the last board hearing, I still don’t understand why their proposal was rejected. I would love nothing more than to have such great care in my community.

The southern McHenry County area is one that has been developing rapidly and this involves people of all ages including the Sun City seniors, young families and many more. We need a valid explanation as to why the board initially denied us the privilege of a community hospital close to our home. We have the right to receive convenient access to high-quality care. We have the right to have our voices heard by the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board and most of all, we deserve Centegra Hospital-Huntley.
