Credit union sponsors car-buying seminar

Are you in the market to buy a new or used vehicle, but are confused about the best way to find a vehicle that fits your needs and budget? Consumers Credit Union is hosting “Car Buying Made Easy,” a no-cost seminar to help you do just that.

The free workshop, sponsored by Consumers Cooperative Association, is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 22, at the Ramada Inn, Waukegan.

The seminar, open to the public and credit union members, will cover a range of car buying tips: how to find a new or used car that fits your needs; understanding your current vehicle’s trade-in value; and, how you can save time and money on your next vehicle purchase.

The workshop also offers insight to help buyers select their best financing option, including determining whether dealer financing or taking the rebate is the better choice.

Attendees will learn how to obtain free vehicle pricing reports containing reliable, trustworthy pricing information for the vehicle you plan to purchase.

“Purchasing a vehicle, whether new or used, can be a very stressful situation, especially for those on a tight budget,” noted Sean M. Rathjen, CCU president.

“‘Car Buying Made Easy’” is designed to address the broad range of issues that are part of the car buying experience. From selecting a car, to getting the best price and choosing the right financing option, this seminar will arm buyers with the information they need to know before they go to the dealer.”

The seminar is presented by Charles Crispino and Nick Ralph of CarQuotes, CCU’s strategic partner for vehicle purchases.

Registration Sept. 22 is at 5:30 p.m. and the seminar begins at 6 p.m. at Ramada Inn, 200 N. Green Bay Road, Waukegan. RSVP to Cedric Ivy at cedricI@myconsumers.org or call (847) 265-5541.
