Women’s golf day to support special recreation foundation

Women golfers are invited to join the Special Leisure Services Foundation on Thursday, Sept. 15, for a day of laughs, golf and food at the annual Women’s Golf Outing.

The event kicks off at 11 a.m. with a delicious lunch followed by the always hilarious Male Caddy Auction. Over the years, the auction has become a staple of the event with caddies going out of their way to make their services valuable by dressing up in costumes and offering fine food and drink and other incentives.

After the auction, golfers will head out for nine holes of scramble golf (carts included). The fun concludes with a large raffle drawing and a cocktail reception.

Tickets to this event are $75 for an individual and $300 for a group of four.

For information or to register, call Brian Selders at (847) 392-2848, ext. 264. Registration is also available online at www.nwsra.org/fundraising.

The foundation is the fundraising arm of Northwest Special Recreation Association. NWSRA is an extension of 17 park districts in the Northwest suburbs established in 1973, providing outstanding recreational opportunities to children and adults with disabilities. In 2010, NWSRA received over 21,000 registrations in more than 2,000 programs. NWSRA provides special events, trips, leisure education, inclusion services, Special Olympics, Paralympic and Unified Sports opportunities, weekly programs, and much more to its residents.
