RMHS Homecoming Week starts Sept. 19

Rolling Meadows High School’s Student Council is proud to announce a weeklong celebration of Homecoming activities Sept. 19-24, with the theme, “A Hollywood Homecoming.” Monday through Thursday, each day will feature a different dress-up theme, and Friday’s apparel will be spiritwear.

On Monday, Sept. 19, “Get Up and Go Day,” students will roll out of bed and come to school in comfy pajamas.

Tuesday, Sept. 20, is “Class Colors Day” with special color designations for each class: frosh — blue; soph — red; juniors — green; seniors — senior shirts. The Teacher Talent Show will take place during seminar and the Teacher-Senior Flag Football game will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Sept. 21, Wednesday, is “Jersey Day.” Movie Night will be held in the field house from 7:30-10 p.m. Admission is free and only available to current RMHS students. Bring a blanket and a pillow, but no outside refreshments!

On Thursday, Sept. 22, each class will be decked out in the following attire: freshmen — ”Western” gear; sophomores — “Hippies”; juniors — “80s Workout World,” and seniors — “Tasteful Togas.” Clothing must be worn under all costumes!

The Homecoming Coronation Ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. in the gym. A children’s carnival will be held in the parking lot from 6-7 p.m. From 7-9 p.m., the following events are scheduled in the stadium: the presentation of the Homecoming Court, Spirit Dance, Fall Sports Recognition, the Pep Rally, and a fireworks display.

The student body, decked out in a sea of purple and gold, will participate in a spirited pep rally on Friday, Sept. 23. The varsity Homecoming football game vs. Wheeling High School takes place at 7:30 p.m.

Homecoming Week will conclude on Saturday, Sept. 24, with the Homecoming Dance from 7:30-10:30 p.m. in the gymnasium. Call the main office during school hours for more information at (847) 718-5600.
