Palatine group has care packages ready to ship to troops
The Yellow Ribbon Support Group, a nonprofit organization in Palatine that has sent more than 20,000 care packages to troops overseas, will be at Septemberfest in Schaumburg again this weekend with boxes ready to be mailed.
Anyone wishing to help can take a box to their local post office and pay $10.95 for shipping.
The group will be at the corner of Schaumburg Court and Summit Drive between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Yellow Ribbon members will move to a canopy on Prairie Center Drive during the evening and after concerts. If any boxes remain, the group will be back Monday.
