Round Lake Beach man arrested in attack in Waukegan

A Round Lake Beach man is in the Lake County jail after he allegedly attacked a man who was visiting the home of his ex-girlfriend, authorities said.

Demonshea Davidson, 18, of 1200 block of Lotus Drive, is in jail on a $500,000 bond after being charged with home invasion, residential burglary and aggravated battery, Waukegan Police Cmdr. Gabe Guzman said.

The attack occurred at 9:40 p.m. on Aug. 25 on the 2100 block of Georgetown Avenue in Waukegan.

Guzman said Davidson was jealous that the man was visiting his ex-girlfriend, so Davidson broke into the home and hit the victim with a baseball bat.

Davidson also allegedly fired one shot from a gun at the man, but the bullet missed and the gun hasn’t been recovered, Guzman said.

Police arrived on the scene when Davidson walked out of the building. He was identified by the victim as the ex-boyfriend, Guzman said.
