NCH Health Center prepares to open in Mt. Prospect
Residents of Mount Prospect and surrounding communities soon will have a new healthcare facility that brings expert physicians and trusted medical services right to their neighborhood.
The NCH Health Center in Mount Prospect, at 199 W. Rand Road, opens its doors Monday, Aug. 8. The public can preview the new medical facility and meet doctors two days earlier at a community open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6.
The two-story, 40,000-square-foot center will feature immediate care, physician offices, lab services, imaging, cardiac diagnostic testing and occupational health services.
"The Mount Prospect area is getting a variety of quality healthcare services without having to drive from their own community," said Michael Hartke, NCH's executive vice president for clinics and regional services. "We're making it easier to get healthy and stay healthy, and it starts with convenient locations. Your new doctor may be right there in your neighborhood."
NCH Medical Group primary care physicians -- both internal medicine and family practice -- have offices at the Health Center. Patients also benefit from a coordinated system of care, with access to renowned specialists at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
The immediate care component of the new NCH Health Center will treat minor injuries such as small fractures, sprains and strains, upper respiratory infections, flu, earaches, sore throats, nausea, vomiting and skin irritations -- almost anything short of serious trauma or life-threatening situations. Hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and holidays.
"We're hoping this is where area residents go for medical care when they don't need to be hospitalized," said Holly Badal, director of NCH's Immediate Care centers. "Walk-ins are accepted at all of our immediate care centers. The convenience is huge for community members who want to get in and out and on with their lives."
Imaging services at the Mount Prospect facility include CT scans, MRI, ultrasound and X-rays. Cardiac testing includes EKGs, stress tests and echocardiograms.
The community open house on Aug. 6 will include tours of the new Health Center, education booths, refreshments, kids activities, music and games with Radio Disney (3-4 p.m.), giveaways that include Taylor Swift tickets, and more. Event registration is recommended by calling (847) 618-4YOU (4968).
