Rolling Meadows man charged with possession of controlled substance

A call to police reporting someone driving a car while smoking cannabis led to the arrest of a 25-year-old Rolling Meadows man Friday near Roselle Road and Hillcrest Drive in Schaumburg.

Police charged Bogdan Filip, of the 4700 block of Arbor Drive, with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, said Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney Jerome Allen during Filips bond hearing Saturday in Rolling Meadows.

In addition to heroin and cannabis, police recovered three syringes and an apple with cannabis residue, Allen said.

Cook County Judge Anthony Iosco set bail at $7,500 for Filip who received supervision for DUI in 2008.

He next appears in court on Tuesday, Aug. 2.
