Seven Boy Scouts from Troop 36 Achieve Rank of Eagle

Boy Scout Troop 36 is proud to announce the advancement of seven scouts to the rank of Eagle. These young men all joined Cub Scout Pack 336 in 1st grade in 1999 and continued their scouting adventures together to Boy Scout Troop 36 in Prospect Heights. After crossing over to Troop 36, the boys enjoyed many camping trips and activities to advance towards their goal of Eagle Scout.

The seven scouts are Nick Gauss, Andy Hess, Scott Lunardini, Sam O'Neil, Nick Samata, Matt Stoklosa, and Eric Yates. To achieve the rank of Eagle, scouts must earn a minimum of 21 merit badges. These scouts earned, on average, 38 merit badges, anywhere from 26-61 each. They also had to complete many hours of community service and plan and perform their own Eagle Scout project. These boys helped their community with their Eagle Scout projects by conducting book drives, reorganizing the Wheeling Township Food Pantry, developing a business data base for the City of Prospect Heights, building a concrete sidewalk and handicap ramp, landscaping the front entrance of Wheeling High School, and building an incinerator for a forest preserve.

Only four percent of all Boy Scouts make it to Eagle Scout, which is Boy Scout's highest honor.
