Register now for Shelter-A-Child motorcycle ride

Registration is being taken now for the 2011 Shelter-A-Child Motorcycle Run, which will be Sunday, July 31.

Riders will begin at City Limits Harley-Davidson in Palatine at 9:30 a.m. and will meet a second group of motorcyclists at JJ Twigs in Wauconda.

The group will ride together through Northern Illinois before finishing back at JJ Twigs for a post-ride celebration at 1 p.m.

The cost to register is $20 for the rider and $15 for passengers. Celebration-only tickets can be purchased for $15. The celebration will include food, beverages, music by the band Fast Times, prizes and raffles. Participants are encouraged to collect pledges in support of the children receiving services from Shelter.

Shelter, Inc. is a nonprofit child welfare agency providing emergency and longer term housing for abused and neglected children and adolescents in the Northwest suburbs.
