Ex-employee admits stealing from bank

A former Schaumburg bank employee was sentenced to four years probation after she admitted she deposited more than $50,000 in bank checks into her personal account.

Maridee Batibot, 34, of Hoffman Estates, pleaded guilty recently to theft by deception, a class 2 felony punishable by three to seven years in prison. Probation is also available.

Police say Batibot altered 31 checks from January 2009 through June 2010, depositing money into her account. A Cook County judge ordered Batibot to pay $56,397.82 in restitution to the victims.
