Prospect Heights wants input on Walnut Woods

The Prospect Heights Park District will hold a public meeting on the master plan for Walnut Woods at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, at the Gary Morava Recreation Center, 110 W. Camp McDonald Road, Prospect Heights. The park district is in the process of applying for an Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) Program state-financed grant for improvements to the 8.5-acre Walnut Woods, 610 N. Wheeling Road, and wishes to get public input. Under consideration are a pervious pavement parking lot, wetland habitat, boardwalk/viewing area for the wetland, nature explorer playground, play trails/outdoor education area, butterfly garden and multiuse trail network.
