Cops: 3 Lake in the Hills resident busted with heroin on I-290

Three Lake in the Hills residents were caught with what police suspect is heroin after being pulled over on I-290 near Elmhurst Thursday afternoon.

A state police trooper pulled a vehicle over for speeding on I-290, just west of North Avenue, at around 1:20 p.m. Thursday and a search of the vehicle uncovered suspected heroin, a state police sergeant said.

Tina Buffa, Frank Buffa and Dominic Bak, all of Lake in the Hills, were each charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to police.

The vehicle was towed and all three suspects were transported to DuPage County jail Thursday night.
