Special Olympics winners

Round Lake Area Park District was among the places to provide participants in the recent Special Olympics basketball tournament at Illinois State University and Illinois Wesleyan University last weekend. Edward Wamser, 11, represented the Round Lake park system and won a bronze medal in individual skills competition and traveled with the Special Recreation Service of Lake County. Round Lake park officials said Timothy Ryno took home a gold medal in individual skills, while the senior division's Gold Team won a bronze medal. Officials said the Special Olympics attracted more than 500 participants.
